Experimental Study on the Effect of Different Shear Reinforcement Shapes on Shear Failure Behavior and Internal Crack Pattern of RC Beams

Various types of shear reinforcement are used for example general closed stirrup and bar with mechanical anchor. However, most standards specifications take only the cross-sectional area vertical components into account when determining their effect, such as on crack development strength. Consequently, full effect different shapes failure behavior reinforced concrete (RC) beams is not clear. In this study, differences in RC using three (closed stirrups, U-shaped rod-shaped reinforcements anchor) were investigated by carrying out loading experiments. The three-dimensional displacement distribution side faces each beam internal patterns obtained. It was clarified that there a clear difference pattern spreading deformation according to shape, influences strength beam.
